Ultimate Moist Chocolate Loaf Cake

Ingredients
For the Cake:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup hot coffee or hot water
For the Chocolate Glaze:
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Slowly stir in hot coffee or water until fully combined (batter will be thin).
- Pour into prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
- For glaze: heat cream and butter until warm, pour over chocolate chips, stir until smooth.
- Pour glaze over cooled cake and let set before slicing.
