creamy garlic butter shrimp recipe

Ingredients (2–3 servings)

Shrimp

  • 400 g shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

Creamy Garlic Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cooking cream (or heavy cream)
  • ¼ cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional but delicious)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

To Serve

  • Steamed white rice or mashed potatoes

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Season & sear shrimp
    Toss shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
    Heat oil/butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    Cook shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  2. Make garlic base
    In the same pan, melt butter.
    Add garlic and sauté 20–30 seconds (don’t brown).
  3. Create the sauce
    Pour in broth and cream.
    Add Italian seasoning, chili flakes, and Parmesan.
    Simmer 3–4 minutes until slightly thick.
  4. Finish
    Return shrimp to pan and simmer 1–2 minutes.
    Taste and adjust seasoning.
  5. Serve
    Sprinkle with parsley and serve over hot rice.

💡 Tips

  • Use large shrimp for best texture
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice at the end for balance
  • For extra richness, finish with ½ tbsp butter
