Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs
Serves: 4–6
Time: ~2.5 hours (mostly baking)
Ingredients
- 1.3–1.5 kg (3 lb) pork ribs, cut into individual ribs
- Salt & black pepper
Honey Garlic Sauce
- 1 cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1–2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Prep & bake (tenderizing stage)
Preheat oven to 170°C / 340°F. Season ribs lightly with salt and pepper.
Arrange ribs in a baking dish, cover tightly with foil, and bake 90 minutes until very tender. - Make the sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine all sauce ingredients.
Simmer 8–10 minutes, stirring, until slightly thick and glossy. - Glaze & caramelize
Increase oven to 220°C / 430°F. Uncover ribs, brush generously with sauce.
Bake 20–30 minutes, turning and brushing every 8–10 minutes, until sticky and caramelized. - Finish
Let rest 5 minutes. Spoon extra sauce over the ribs and serve hot.
Tips
- For extra sticky ribs, broil (grill) the last 2–3 minutes—watch closely.
- Works great on the grill too: finish over medium heat, basting often.
